Based on this definition, our question is, "can saving money, building your future, and realizing your goals be considered a hobby"?
To answer this question we searched for the etymology of the word. Again, using Wikipedia we found the following information: "Hobbies are practiced for interest and enjoyment, rather than financial reward. Examples include collecting, creative and artistic pursuits, making, tinkering, sports and adult education. Engaging in a hobby can lead to acquiring substantial skill, knowledge, and experience. However, personal fulfillment is the aim."
So how did we fare?
- Interest and enjoyment - Check.
- Financial reward - (Yikes) Check.
- Personal fulfillment - Check.
We're not sure. Regardless, we love saving money, building our future, realizing our dreams, and helping other do the same, so we'll continue in our spare time recreational pursuit.
So, what's your hobby?
